Pursuit of prosperity

This is a small note on why we should seek prosperity.

I recall that many of my friends and many around, judged me to be a workaholic without work-life balance. A few did advice me to slow down, take it easy, enjoy more leisure and live for the day. They said "many things in life are more important than money". They meant well, of course.

I do agree that many things are indeed more important than money. But one shouldn't forget that to focus on these important things is only possible if we overcome the "money problem". Without money and time we wield little power over life.

I was not trying to be better than them. It wasn't about piling up cash in the bank. it was about gaining the upper hand, not over others, but over life's financial condition. I was only after the financial holy grail - a secure future with a fulfilling present.

Remember there is never a certainty of future rewards, but we go for it anyway, or we keep what we've got.

I have experienced how a lack of money leads to fear, restlessness and chronic despair. And, work-life balance is not so wonderful when you are in a financial anxiety. One do not know the value of money until we feel the fear of its absence. Prosperity is waking up without money worries.

So seek prosperity.
